What wallet app should I use with the ATM ?

The followings work based on Dec 2020 testing. For buying you can use any wallet app. For selling please use Coinomi or Jaxx Liberty. DO NOT USE Blockchain wallet app as it cannot scan the BTC amount in the qr code.

I try to sell Bitcoin at the ATM using Blockchain wallet but the QR code would not scan

Since Blockchain wallet app got upgraded it cannot scan QR code to read the Bitcoin address and the BTC amount.

Please use other wallet apps. If you must use Blockchain wallet app then try copy and paste the Bitcoin address and the BTC amount from another QR code reader app.

I just bought Bitcoin but it is not in my wallet.

Some wallets display transactions with > 5 confirmations. Enter your wallet address into blockchain.com for instant check.

I send Bitcoin to a friend. Can you tell me if he/she has received the money ?

What is the Bitcoin price (fees) on ATM?

* Buy/Sell fees is ~7% from HK average exchange price + 6 HKD Fixed fees for the Bitcoin network transaction fees (fixed fees increase / decrease as per network recommended fees)*

*We take an average price of weighted HK exchanges, if it deviates a lot with international exchanges then another exchange ask price will be use, we reserve the right to change price and markup without notice.

Why does the ATM price have markup ?

Bitcoin price can rise or fall 30% in a single day. The markup premium helps with the loss from the price movement since our price do not change regardless of your transaction size. Handling cash is expensive for Bitcoin business. We do not charge deposit, withdrawal nor transaction fees. ATMs are located at convenience district centers 24/7. The rental costs are high in Hong Kong. We believe our ATMs provide value to our customers in the form of convenience, trustworthiness, service support and reliability.

I inserted $1000 HKD Bill into the machine but wallet shows less.

Your wallet might be using Coinbase price which is an US Bitcoin exchange. Bitcoin price in Hong Kong is NOT same as the price from the US. Often US prices are few % cheaper. Please read Http://hkbitcoinatm.com/what-is-arbitrage-in-bitcoin-buying-and-selling/

Is there any differences between the different available Bitcoin Wallet apps ?

They all have the core functions i.e. to store, receive, send Bitcoin. Some have more security features. The safest are recommended one is Blockchain

I have a transaction that is taking very long time to get 1 confirmation, is this normal ?

Sometimes the Bitcoin network gets very busy. It can take up to 24 hours to receive confirmations

Report problems

If there is a problem with your transactions you must report it within 2 days. After this time we will automatically liquidate your position. This is due to high price volatility of crypto currency. Refunds will only be the original amount and currency you put into the machine or amount adjusted after price movement.

I sent Bitcoin to the machine no cash !

You should send ENOUGH Bitcoin to the ATM within 60 seconds. If you don’t or you have changed the amount of Bitcoin to send in your wallet then no money will be dispensed. Since the machine does not know whether you have sent Bitcoin or not, it will ask you to enter your tel number. It will send you an sms if and once your transaction has 1 confirmation then you can return to the machine to to press redeem and get cash. You need to redeem within 24 hrs from the time of transaction.

If you cannot can the QR code then most likely you are using Android version’s Blockchain wallet app. There is a bug and so it won’t scan. For Android you can use Coinomi or Jaxx Liberty. For IOS you can continue to use Blockchain wallet app.

Don’t panic. Check out the video tutorial first. If any more problems, email us or message us on Facebook with the Bitcoin address you sent to and time of transaction.

What happens if I forget to pickup money after it is dispensed ?

The ATM would dispense money immediately if you send enough Bitcoin within 60 seconds (for small transaction amount). It is your responsibility to take the money. If no money came out you can take a photo of the dispense tray as evidence. If you forget to take your money and someone else take your money then we cannot refund you. You can report to the police to try to get the money back from the person who take your money.

Is the ATM working now, I want to buy / sell Bitcoin ?

YES. If unsure check our facebook page. Any outage will be shown on the status. No need to email us for this question.

I sent Bitcoin to a stranger I never met. Can I get my Bitcoin back ?

Most likely not. Our shops have big disclaimer telling people to beware of any scams.

Is there any amount limit ?

The ATM should have enough BTC or cash for most customers.

Warnings

Never use Bitcoin address that do not belong to you to buy Bitcoin. Always use your own Bitcoin wallet app address.
